12.10.08 Glapwell Football Festival 2009 Glapwell Football Festival 2009 has now been confirmed and accepted by Unibond Officials and will run from Monday 27th April 2009 to Monday 4th May 2009
The Festival will run as per last years format with the Glapwell Youth Teams hosting the tournaments Monday to Friday, Saturday 2nd May being left blank in case the senior team need to forfill any remaining fixtures.
With over £40,000 already raised for Kings Mill Hospital in association with the Jamie Walker Fund the game will take place involving Scott Sellars and a select Jamie Walker X1 on Sunday 3rd May and to reinforce the Community spirit the Festival will now run into Bank Holiday Monday with the inception of the New Community Well Cup . This will be a 5 a side tournament open to all non league clubs young and old but the entry form must be as a village ie Glapwell, Pleasley, Shirebrook, New Houghton, Clay Cross etc to create a real community atmosphere.
Further details will be given during the next few months as the events for the week take shape.

There will be a photographer taking photos of the teams, action shots and also individual stills (by request).
1. Teams must register, with the names and dates of birth of their squad, thirty minutes prior to the start of the first match in their group.
2. Age qualifying date for all groups is 31 August 2008 - all age groups as per season 2007-2008.
3. FA Mini Soccer rules will apply.
4. Only 6 players from each team are allowed on the pitch at once (7 for Under 9's).
5. The Referee shall be the sole arbiter in all matters relating to the field of play and his/her decision will be FINAL. The Referee is empowered to disqualify any team not ready to play on the stated pitch at the stated time.
6. Teams should bring two contrasting sets of shirts to allow for a colour clash, when the first named team shall change.
7. Teams in each group shall play one match, of ten minutes one way, against all other teams in the same group. Three points will be awarded for a win, two points for a score draw, and one point for a no score draw. If more than one team share the highest number of points after playing all their matches, a winner will be decided by the first of the following to produce a difference:
(a) Goal difference (b) Highest number of goals scored (c) The result of the game between the two teams concerned (d) A penalty competition
8. In the event that one or more of the teams scratch either on the day of the event, or beforehand, the following action will be taken to determine the winners and runners up of the group(s) affected:
Groups shall be amalgamated into new groups of four where possible, when normal rules apply, or rescheduled into groups of three teams or five teams.
9. All matches up to and including the semi-finals shall be ten minutes one way, with the final being fifteen minutes one way.
10. Group winners and runners up will play a quarter, semi-final and final on a knock out basis. If circumstances arise which bring rule 8 into force, then the organiser shall decide how the qualification will be determined from the rescheduled group on the day. In the event of a draw, extra time of two minutes each way will be played in the quarter final, and three minutes each way in the semi-final and final. If teams are still level after extra time then a penalty competition will decide the winners. Only players who finished the match will take part in the penalty competition. A penalty competition will involve each team taking three penalties each by three different players. After, a ‘sudden death' rule will apply with the different players taking the penalties until six have been taken. If there is still no winner after six penalties each then the ‘sudden death' continues, with the six players taking a second penalty if necessary.
11. Goal kicks will be taken from any point within the goal area.
12. Any player who is sent off, or who receives two cautions, will be banned from taking any further part in the competition.
13. Referees will penalise dangerous and unsporting play, foul language or any form of dissent.
14. Footwear shall be worn in accordance with the laws of the game.
15. It is compulsory for all players to wear shin guards.
16. The Referee shall act as timekeeper and record goals scored. Results will be passed to the control point after each game.
17. All questions concerning eligibility must be referred to the organiser.
18. All cases of misconduct shall be reported to the FA.
19. Protests/Complaints . As stated in rule 5, the Referee's decision is FINAL and will not be overturned. Teams who wish to lodge a formal protest relating to the field of play must bear this in mind and pay a fee of £15 to the Committee who will consider the case. If the Committee finds in favour of the team, the fee will be returned and remedial action taken. If not the fee will be forfeited.
